Amsterdam Scrap Terminal in Netherlands
Two Mantsinen 300 Material Handling Machines with rubber tire gantry undercarriages were placed in Amsterdam Scrap Terminal (AST) for heavy scrap handling operations. The terminal’s stock area covers 27.000 square meters (291.000 sq ft) and is capable of loading up to 50.000 metric tonnes of scrap onto ships.
Both of the machines are capable of lifting 10 metric tons (22.000 lbs) scrap per just one cycle, which makes loading/unloading process swift and highly productive.
The lifting capacity combined with mobile undercarriage ensure the ship does not have to stay too long at the port waiting for the process to finish.
We are proud to be able to deliver these material handling machines especially at this size; the machines weight approximately 425 metric tons (937.000 lbs) and the height of the undercarriage alone is 12.8 m (42′). Combined with the measures of the boom and stick – 21.5 m (70′-6″) & 17.0 m (55′-9″) respectively – it makes scrap handling quite impressive and effective.
Scrap handling presents huge challenges for the equipment
For scrap handling operations you should have the toughest machine available. Mantsinen material handlers regardless of the size are designed according to the highest machine design classification. Every Mantsinen is a robust machine that can handle heavy scrap loads with ease.
Efficiency, safety, and operational cost are becoming more and more important. The manufacturer who can combine these in the best possible ways will give the machine operator the best cards against the competition.
