Mantsinen Group Ltd Oy has received a safety award from Stora Enso’s Wood Products Oy Ltd
Mantsinen has proven itself to be innovative in its safety work, engaging in developing the layout of Uimaharju Sawmill Terminal in Finland and integrating safety solutions all the way through to logistics.
“Evidence of its safety promotion work can be seen in traffic operations in the factory area, positioning of log stacks, and deployment of an automated truck for wood chip transportation, to name just a few examples.
In spring 2020, they organised and implemented an exemplary situation exercise covering the steps to be taken if a coronavirus infection were detected. As a result of the exercise, Stora Enso introduced the keeping of weekly records of close contacts, to ensure better tracing of those potentially exposed to the coronavirus. Prevention of the spread of the coronavirus pandemic at factories is particularly important for ensuring that production at each factory can continue uninterrupted.”
