HENRI VÄNSKÄ, SERVICE PRODUCT SPECIALIST

Henri Vänskä holds the position of service product specialist at Mantsinen Group. During his mechanical engineering studies, he did his internship and wrote his thesis for Mantsinen, which opened the door for a position as a service engineer, working with service bulletins and remote connections. Today, his duties include working with service products and systems, product development and customer service.

CUSTOMER SERVICE AT THE FACTORY AND ON-SITE

“On office days, my mornings start before 8 a.m. Days at the factory are largely structured around scheduled meetings. Throughout the day, I engage in discussions and review data-related issues, sometimes very spontaneously, for example with the technical support team. We also have the option to work remotely, and I like to work remotely once a week.

Managing various projects with product development, marketing, services, and partners is part of my everyday life, which makes my job very interesting. My duties involve handling various documents, such as service contracts, offer templates, product descriptions, project plans, training materials and user manuals.

I often engage with our customers in the afternoon because our customers and dealers are located mostly in different time zones around the world.

I also have occasional work-related trips that typically span a few days. They primarily involve participating in trade fairs, conducting training sessions, and engaging in meetings with customers and dealers. Work trips are rewarding as they offer a good opportunity to learn a lot about the different customers’ businesses and different cultures. I believe there is a big difference between interacting with customers face-to-face, witnessing their site firsthand, than communicating with them by email or getting second hand information through someone else.

WORK CULTURE BASED ON DIALOGUE AND ENTREPRENEURIAL SPIRIT

Almost daily, we have discussions about how things could be done better, more efficiently, and with value creation in mind, without forgetting to think about how to get to the desired outcome. I find these conversations to be positive, and that things are not approached in an overly complicated manner. Occasionally, our work rhythm needs to be slowed down a little bit to ensure that existing tasks are completed before moving on to the next ones.

Entrepreneurial spirit can be seen in the way things are developed quickly, rather than getting stuck in old ways of doing things.

A SAFE ENVIRONMENT FOR CONTINUOUS LEARNING

The best thing about Mantsinen is all of the people I get to collaborate with. People are different and through cooperation one can learn to see things from new perspectives, especially at the international level.

I also like the challenging nature of my work tasks. Sometimes the challenging nature of my work makes me feel that I don’t know enough about something, which urges me to seek information, which is a valuable learning experience. Typically, these areas are related to technical aspects and customer knowledge.

Working at the factory in Ylämylly also makes me feel safe in the sense that there are many great colleagues around me, who provide me with new and positive ideas, even when the topic may be a difficult one. When working with them, there is no need to fear failure.
